Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never been aware of it frequently think it is a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. But it's not the case. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to become an actress, but after a sudden increase in size, her friends weren't able to dance with her. In an interview with Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet, 1 inch." When I surpassed any male partner and stopped dancing, I quit. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her in the direction she wanted. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the annual school production. She tried out and was eventually cast as the role of the main character of Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, she's appeared performing in over 60 plays, big and small. One of the most memorable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
